1997 Mitsubishi Diamante ES Intake Manifold Removal

Download 1. Remove right front splash shield. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE . Remove . Disconnect Throttle Position (TP) sensor and Idle Air Control (IAC) motor connectors. See Fig. 15 -Fig. 17 . Disconnect vacuum hose from throttle body. Remove throttle body assembly. Disconnect power steering and Heater Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) connectors. Disconnect Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor. Disconnect fuel injector connectors on left side of engine. 2. Remove control wiring harness. Remove . Disconnect vacuum hoses from intake manifold . Disconnect brake booster vacuum hose. Remove Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor. Remove EGR pipe. Remove EGR . Remove plenum chamber and gasket. 3. Disconnect fuel supply line from fuel rail. See Fig. 18 . Disconnect fuel injector connectors on right side of engine. Remove fuel rail and insulators. Remove power steering pump cover and drive belt. Remove power steering pump and bracket. Suspend power steering pump aside. Disconnect PCV hose. Remove bracket. Remove intake manifold mounting nuts and coned disc . Remove intake manifold and gasket. Inspection Inspect intake manifold for cracks, damage or distortion. Replace intake manifold as necessary. Ensure intake manifold and plenum chamber are clean and not plugged. Discard old gaskets and clean all of manifold and cylinder heads.
